News and Stuff
Hello!
It's been a little while since I've updated the main page of the site. Unfortunately, a lot of my attention has been spread pretty thin over the last few weeks.
JP Shopping Guide
I started working on this guide shortly after the website went live. However, with the ongoing tariff situation, I'm not sure if what I'm going to write will be applicable in the near future.
While I think that the "skillset" that I write about might be insightful, I think any savings will be negated if tariffs go into effect. There's a lot of talk within the figure collecting community about the removal of duty-free imports. The de minimis allowed packages worth up to $800 in value to enter the country duty-free. In this case specifically, it's what enabled many Americans to buy cheap items from Temu or Shein, or even Aliexpress for many years without issue.
Even though this mainly affects Chinese imports, there has been a lot of uncertainty among collectors, figure manufacturers, and merchandise store fronts about how best to approach this situation. There have been instances where collectors are charged a significant tariff because an item was made in China, but sold to them in Japan.
With so much happening in the world, it's sometimes hard to know what to do. My current plan is to just stay the course and adapt as needed.
Planned Features for the Site
There are several things that I'd like to add to the site eventually.
For starters, I'd like to bring back the music player. I'll have to see what the best approach for that is.
Secondly, I'd like to include a guestbook for the website. I'd be interested in hearing any comments or receiving feedback about the website. Even thought it makes me feel a bit uneasy, I'd probably make it anonymous so people can be honest.
As much as I like working on this website for myself, I really want to make it fun for other people as well.
Let's hope that the page isn't filled from top to bottom with random widgets the next time you visit.
